Complimentary consultation
The complimentary consultation is completely pressure free where you decide whether
or not my services are right for you. We can meet any time during your
pregnancy and you can take as long as you like to decide.
Two doula visits after hiring
The first of the visits includes the signing of the contract and the discussion of the birth plan. We will discuss in detail your thoughts, feelings, wishes and expectations for the birth and how you feel about certain issues like pain medication and intervention. We will discuss labour positions, meditation, visualization techniques and breathing.
The second visit I like to do 2-3 weeks before your due date. We will review the birth plan and talk about any changes you may have made or concerns you may be having getting closer to your special day. I will be showing you tools that we will be using during the labour for natural comfort options. This includes breathing techniques, labour positions and visual imagery. I will also practice massage and show these techniques to your partner as well. During this visit I will also utilize this time to just chat about the birth. It is beneficial for the mother and her partner to be able to candidly discuss such a momentous occasion.
I am not regulated to only two visits and we can discuss this upon our first meeting. Some women like to be seen more than twice before the birth and others are fine with just once. It is a personal preference.
The Birth
In the weeks leading up to the birth I am on call to you day and night. You can reach me anytime. When labour commences I will come and be with you from the beginning up until approximately two hours after the delivery.
Postpartum visit
Within the two weeks after the birth I will visit you once to discuss the birth and answer any additional questions you might have. I will also have for you a 'birth story' detailing the events during the birth.
My Fee
My fee for the above services is $600.
